Day Eleven of My Health Journey - and Another Cute Truck

Well today I don't have any pictures of food, but I do have one of another truck, which my husband took this morning. I was still asleep, and as he sat at the kitchen window this truck of antiquity pulled up at the library and he was totally engrossed with it. I like old cars and trucks too. We are both so nostalgic! Modern things are just built to tear up. It's an agenda. Have you ever heard of planned obsolescence? You can read about that here and here (thanks to my friend Tim for giving me the links). Anyway, here is the beautiful blue truck!

Photobucket

As far as food goes, a friend sent a blessing of spaghetti last night, so we had that for supper and I had a baked potato for lunch with a little butter, seasoning salt, cayenne pepper, curry, turmeric, paprika and blended herbs. Even though I am not able to be raw these days, due to funds, I am staying under 1,000 calories a day, so I am still meeting my goal there. Everything that I have been drinking has been filtered water, other than the milk drink my husband gave me on Satur-day night, so I am not taking any empty calories from drinks. I have been wanting to drink some tea, but I'm out of honey so I won't drink any until I get it. I don't want to drink any white sugar. I lost another two pound today, from the few pounds that I had gained back so now I am at a total of twelve pounds lost in the past ten days. I am still happy, because that's a very good loss for one week, and when I get back on track with the raw it will continue to go down. I am feeling pretty good. I didn't sleep well last night - I slept in bits and pieces, so I am a little tired, but I had a great dream last night! Granted, when I have dreams that have a spiritual undertone they are the best, as I know that YHWH gave them to me, but this was one of the best secular dreams I have ever had! I was in a huge hotel or something. It was very old and someone told me to restore it, and so I was visioning what I was going to do and what it would look like. Boy, that was a dream! That would be my dream period! I love to decorate things!

Well, that's about all I have to share today. It seems my depression has passed. I rarely ever get depressed, so it must have been the effects of the food. Cooked food does cause depression!

Day Ten of My Health Journey - and a Cute Truck

Well, I haven't really been raw at all the past day - not even an apple of a banana, because the funds are lacking to shop. We have been eating what we have here, which was beans and stuff to make some biscuits.

I made some biscuits last night for supper. I felt really guilty, but that's all that we had here to eat. I placed a little spaghetti sauce, which I had left in the refrigerator, to the side to dip them in rather than the usual butter. That made them like little pizza rolls - kind of, not that that made them any healthier. They are drop biscuits, and here they are.

Photobucket

For breakfast this morning, we had the same, but without the sauce, and I didn't have any butter either - just plain. We have some beans left over, so we had those for lunch. Since this past Sun-day, of barely eating raw, I have gained back four pounds, for a grand total loss now of 11 pounds since the last Sun-day, nine days ago. I tell ya, I can look at cooked food and it jumps on me! I am hoping that tonight we can get back on the raw track. I am so ready for salads and fruits again! I recently found Diana Stobo and have been watching her videos, and she has some good looking raw recipes! Oh, I have also made a new Youtube channel, which is located here if anyone wants to befriend me there. I'm looking for some new recipes, so that I don't get tired of eating raw, not that I have even really started yet.

As I mentioned, I gained four pounds in the last two days. I am one of extremes I guess - losing 14.5 pounds in a week then gaining back 4 in two days - how does that happen? My energy has decreased from what it was late last week, and I have been kind of depressed the last couple of days - which is VERY unusual for me! Usually nothing gets me down, but I am always optimistic! It must be the foods! I even cried last night because I couldn't eat raw. Diana Stobo has been a real inspiration to me.

Other than that, I just wanted to show off this cute little truck that comes by my home ever so often. The driver sharpens the knives for the neighboring deli. I wish that he had been parked across the street - or that I was on the street level, because this picture doesn't do the truck justice.

Photobucket

I am so nostalgic. America just seems, to me, as if it was so much better prior to the sixties. This truck might not date back that far, but it reminds me of the days (as if I were born then) that men would come around and do services -- like the milk man. I remember him coming around when I was a teeny girl, but it was soon cut out. I was born in 1970, so it must have been cut out by 1973 or 1974. Anyway, this truck just reminds me of those days. He has bought some type of old delivery truck and remodeled it, making a shop inside to sharpen knives and tools.

Here is another picture of the truck, which does it even less justice, as my husband insisted taking a photo from the kitchen window, which has an A/C unit in it, and so the window nor the screen can be raised.

Photobucket

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the cute little truck, and hopefully I can be a raw inspiration again soon! I am anxious to get back on track!

Love,
Kimberly ♥

Benefits of Drinking Water (Filtered)

Photobucket
I didn't take this picture, but I chose it because sometimes I do like to put cucumber slices and mint in my water. I like to also sometimes put frozen strawberries or blueberries in my water instead of, or rather than, ice. Not only is this healthy, but it also make for a pretty glass. It's also yummy to eat the mint and berries after the water has finished.
What I want to concentrate on now, however, is just water. Water is the single most important thing that you can put into your body. We all need protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, etc., but if you aren't getting enough water then you are going to be dehydrated and feel very bad.

The health benefits of water (filtered) include:
  • Water helps with weight loss and to flush the kidneys out, this preventing water retention.
  • Water helps maintain muscle tone.
  • Water helps the body to detox.
  • Water improves endocrine gland functions.
  • Water helps the liver to metabolize more fat.
  • Water improves skin condition.
  • Water helps the blood to circulate.
  • Water improves the digestive function, and prevents constipation.
  • Water keeps the ph level of the body balanced.
  • Water regulates the body temperature.
  • Water helps in metabolism.
  • Water carries nutrients and oxygen through the body.
  • Water prevents kidney stones.
  • Water prevents cardiovascular disease.
  • Water prevents arthritis.
  • Water prevents backaches.
  • Water prevents osteoporosis.

Day Nine of My Health Journey - and a Recipe for Cooked Beans

I am sorry that I didn't post anything yesterday. I just needed a blog break for a day. Yesterday was one week that I have been eating high raw or at least light, though this weekend we did step it up a bit to more normal foods, and I was so sorry that I did. I posted on Satur-day evening that the roasted chicken, which I had Friday night made me sick, but I was also sick Satur-day night and Sunday night from things I consumed. Saturday for supper, I had two pieces of turkey bacon (we never eat pork), a fried egg and a slice and a half of whole wheat bread. That didn't seem to make me sick, but later my husband put some sweetened milk in the blender with some ice cubes and vanilla and gave me a glass. Now, if he had asked me first, I would have turned him down, but he didn't. He made it for me and then said, "Here's you a drink," so I drank it, and I have to say it was yummy, but about an hour later my tummy didn't have the same feelings about the drink that I did. It started rolling and rumbling, and I had another bout with diarrhea. We got a little hungry later on though and split a baked potato, which was good. I had a little butter on it, and it didn't seem to bother me.

Here are pictures of the 1/2 potato and the turkey, bacon and bread, which I ate Saturday.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I think I also ate one apple and a couple of bananas Satur day, so the grand total of my intake Satur-day was 2 pieces of turkey bacon, 2 1/2 slices of whole wheat bread (I had one in between), an egg, 2 bananas, an apple and 1/2 of a potato.

Sunday I had 2 more slices of turkey bacon, 1 1/2 slices of bread, and an egg, two bananas and later in the day some rice...

Photobucket

then in the evening I had some (just to taste - about three tablespoons) navy beans, which I made (I will post the recipe in a minute.)

Photobucket

As far as my weight loss goes, yesterday (Sun-day) I weighed and I had lost 14.5 pounds since I began this journey last Sun-day. I was so excited, however, this morning I had gained 1.5 pounds back, so I am only 13 pounds down, which I am still very happy about. Our funds are limited, so raw is a problem for us for a few days. We are just having to eat make-do foods until we can stock up later in the week, but I have to say that YHWH (God) always provides something! HalleluYah! Praises to Him!

As for the way I feel, since I haven't been eating raw, my energy has decreased again and I have been very depressed feeling today for some reason. I think it is because I am missing my raw foods. I actually crave them now. There are so many things I want to try! Also, I am out of my asthma medication (Advair) and my breathing is not that good. I have been out three days. It's a good thing I have my albuterol. Oh the day that I can go completely 100% raw and lose this asthma - what a glorious day that will be!

As for the bean recipe... I use think think there wasn't any other way to cook beans other than to season them with pork fat back. We stopped eating pork two and a half years ago, and boy, was I wrong! They are just as yummy with spices!

I used Navy beans. I soaked them overnight.

Photobucket

Then I poured the soak water off of them and rinsed them really good in the colander.

Photobucket

I took two cloves of garlic...

Photobucket

a little paprika, turmeric, blended herbs and seasoning salt...

Photobucket

(I use this kind of blended herbs.)

Photobucket

a little hot pepper and some onion...

Photobucket

and combined them all in the crock pot with the beans. There is also a half of a slice of turkey bacon in here, as well, and a couple of fresh bay leaves.

I have a large crock pot...

Photobucket

but for beans I always use the small one.

Photobucket

I filled it up with filtered water and added the lid...

Photobucket

and let the beans cook for about eight hours or so. I don't really time them - I just check when they are tender, but it probably takes about eight hours. Halfway through, however, my husband thickened them a bit with a little flour, added some cooking wine and a few more pieces of pepper.

Photobucket

And that's all there is to it. They are really good, and beans are one of the best things you can eat for health purposes. And they aren't hurting my tummy!

Day Seven of My Health Journey - and Some Videos on the Harmful Effects of Meat

I am having a really good day today, much better than I can say for last night - which I will get into in a minute, but I woke up with lots of energy this morning and really feel good. If it had not been that today was the Sabbath, I think I could have cleaned my apartment from top to bottom with ease!

Yesterday, I really wasn't that hungry in the afternoon, but my husband ran across the street and got me some bananas before he left, and he also brought back a persimmons, which is one of my favorite fruits!

They look like this.

Photobucket

And they are really firm, so I place them upside down and make four cuts through them like this.

Photobucket

Then I break them in half like this - then the rest of the pieces just pull apart easily.

Photobucket

My husband and I shared this little dish, which is garnished with basil, which I also love to eat.

Photobucket

I had half of this yesterday afternoon, then I had a banana, and then later had a smoothie (made from a banana, an orange and some filtered water). When I make an orange smoothie I just peel it and throw the seeds in. It will blend up so that they are manageable enough to chew. Seeds have lots of nutrition. I also try to leave as much of the white pith on as I can, as well, as it is nutrient rich.

Photobucket

My husband came home before the start of the Sabbath and put this chicken on to roast, accompanied with a potato, as I had promised him that we would partake of meats on the weekends.

Photobucket

Here are a few shots of it after it was finished.

Photobucket

Photobucket

To be honest, I was anticipating sinking my teeth into some meat, as I had not had any since Satur-day of last week (six days), other than a couple of fried eggs. That chicken looked good, and I had a good serving, which my husband put on my plate. (Though the colors are similar, and it's hard to tell, there is actually a half of potato here - it's not ALL chicken - and I also had a slice of whole wheat bread, and a banana later.)

Photobucket

And it was so juicy and yummy! I thoroughly enjoyed it, however, after a few hours my tummy was telling me that it disliked the chicken very much. I had stomach cramps and diarrhea, as well as did my husband.  We paid for eating that greasy chicken!

Today, to my surprise, I had still lost my one pound, which makes 11 pounds this week! I was very happy! I was feeling very good and energetic, as well. My husband now tells me that my face is glowing too - I rarely ever wear make up, so it's the skin. I am well pleased with how my high raw journey is going!

Today, we have been watching some videos on the damage meat does to one's body. It causes cancer, it causes loss in calcium and it causes heart attacks, among other things. Here are the videos, which we watched. (Pause the music above to watch.)

There is another video, which I watched last year, in which a doctor brought to a lecture body organs from autopsies, which were damaged from fat. I have been trying to find that one to add, but so far nothing... If I find it I will post it, as well.

After getting sick from the greasy chicken and seeing these videos (I have seen Dr, Klapper a few times before) I am kind of really down on meat and think I will choose the meaty mushroom from now on for my meat. I am not saying that I will never eat meat again, but I think it will surely be limited.

As for today, so far - I have eaten a banana, an apple (minus the few bites that I have my husband and the guinea pigs) and a piece of whole wheat bread. I am hungry now, so I will find something else to eat soon. It's 7:22 now. There's not much food here today, and we did not go to the store. We have one apple, a half of loaf of bread or less, some turkey bacon and a potato, so I don't know what I will have to give into and eat - maybe some turkey bacon, after all (I am so hungry), but I'm still down on meat and its effects right now.

Kimberly ♥

The Sabbath - a Poem by Edward Bulwer Lytton

This is a poem my husband showed me yesterday from one of his books. I wanted to share it with you, because today, at twilight, (which is actually tomorrow, according to the Word of God - [And the evening and the morning were the first day - Genesis 1:5] is the beginning of the Sabbath.

Photobucket

The Sabbath

Fresh glides the brook, and blows the gale,
Yet, yonder halts the quiet mill!
The whirring wheel, the rushing sail, --
How motionless and still!

Six days of toil, poor child of Cain,
Thy strength the slave of what may be;
The seventh, thy Limbs escape the chain, --
A God hath made thee free!

Ah! Tender was the law that gave
This holy respite to the breast --
To breathe the gale, to watch the wave,
And know the wheel may rest!

But, where the waves the gentlest glide,
What image charms, to lift thine eyes?
The spire, reflected on the tide,
Invites thee to the skies.

To teach the soul of its nobler worth,
This rest from mortal toil is given;
Go, snatch the brief reprieve from earth,
And pass -- a guest to Heaven.

They tell thee, in their dreaming school,
Of power from old dominion hurled,
When rich and poor, with juster rule,
Shall share the altered world.

Alas! since time itself began,
That fable hath but fooled the hour;
Each age that ripens power in man,
But subjects man to power.

Yet, every day in seven, at least,
One bright republic shall be known;
Man's world awhile hath surely ceased,
When God proclaims His own!

Six days may rank divide the poor,
O Dives, from thy banquet-hall!
The seventh, the Father opes the door,
And holds His feast for all!
                           Edward Bulwer Lytton

Day Six of My Health Journey - and the Benefits of Ginger (there's a lot of them!)

I thought I would post early today since I keep the Sabbath. If I don 't post now, I probably wouldn't post at all today. I am doing really good today. After I posted yesterday I had a Gala apple and a little bit of cantaloupe, then when my husband came home we had more of the lo mein we have been eating and we split another apple and had a bit more cantaloupe. Right now, it's 1:23 pm and I haven't had anything except for my filtered ice water today. I'm not really hungry at all. Maybe my tummy is shrinking.... I hope so. Before I moved to New York I rarely ever ate breakfast. I just wasn't much of a breakfast person. Now I am in the habit of it, and that is one reason I put on some weight. If you read my post Something Different then you will know that I didn't eat that much at all before I moved to New York -- I would mostly eat one meal per day, and some days not even that much. I would substitute my supper with Slimfast - not that I was really at a heavy weight, but I just liked the taste of it. I maintained my weight like that. I didn't gain and I didn't lose - I just stayed stable, and I was by NO means raw; in fact, I barely bought anything raw. That's how I would like to be again. It seems like now I can look at something and gain 5 pounds. But, I weighed this morning and I have lost 10 pounds since Sun-day - ten pounds in five days! I lost five the first day, and one every other day, except one day that I lost two. I'm happy! :) Sunday will be a week, and I am thinking that will make 12 pounds lost this first week if the pattern of one pound per day stays stable. I don't know though - we may eat some meat this weekend. My husband is afraid not to eat some meat with his medical condition, so I agreed that weekends would be OK for that. If I eat meat this weekend then I will probably remain at a ten pound loss for this week. I think that the five pounds was water weight, so I don't expect every week to be the same, but do think that I can lose 5 - 7 pounds per week.

My husband woke up with nausea today, so I recommended that he drink a cup of ginger tea, and he did, and it did help him. I kind of wanted some tea (Green tea) but I'm out of honey, so I refrained. He used sugar. He also had a poached egg - his first one. He wanted to try it because they aren't greasy. He liked it. He went by this video to show him how to do it. He also had 2 slices of turkey bacon, and a piece of whole wheat bread (which he now admits that he had hidden from me) so I think his weight loss will be slowed down. He's lost seven now, but he doesn't have the swelling like a woman usually does, so he didn't have a lot of water to lose.

Anyway, I wanted to share the benefits of ginger. It's one of the healthiest foods that one can partake of. It's a root and can be used in tea, juiced or made into a candy. One day I will make a post of how to make ginger candy (dehydrated ginger). It can be used in other ways too, but those are the ways that we use it most.

  • Ginger is a medicine and was used to fight against the Black Death in Europe.
  • It promotes sweating - to get sickness out of the body. (I have never sweated after taking ginger - this must be at high qualities.)
  • Ginger can quell inflammation associated with arthritis.
  • Ginger can cut the risks of heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer's Disease, as well as prevent the risk of arthritis.
  • Ginger relaxes the blood vessels.
  • Ginger eases an upset stomach.
  • Ginger dispels flatulence and prevents gas.
  • Ginger helps control heartburn.
  • Ginger blocks the effects of aflatoxin, which is a mold that can cause liver cancer.
  • Ginger fights migraines and other headaches.
  • Ginger fights high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
  • Ginger prevents motion sickness.
  • Ginger prevents blood clots, because it has chemical structure similar to an aspirin.
After reading this, my husband and I agree that we should have a cup of ginger tea everyday (after I get my honey)! And we have plenty of it!  I bought all this tea before my daddy died in March, and have barely touched it. I love these teas because they are pellets - no messy bags to mess with. Just add hot water and stir!

Photobucket

It gives me an excuse to use my cute little Chinese tea cups too.

Photobucket
I'm getting kind of hungry now, so I'm off to eat an orange - my first food of the day!

Kimberly ♥

Healthy Soup

I broke down and made a bowl of soup. I was a little hungry, but not that bad - but it just kept nagging at me. I had a jar of chicken stock in the refrigerator and it kept calling my name!

Here's the ingredients:

Photobucket

  • just about a pint of chicken stock
  • 2 green onion leaves (I am saving the bulbous ends for the lo mein tonight)
  • 1 broccoli stalk
  • 1 jalapeno pepper I found about to shrivel up
  • 2 portabella mushrooms
I peeled the broccoli stem and sliced it into coins, cut the jalapeno pepper in half and deseeded it, cut the green onions up and sliced the mushrooms.

Photobucket

Put everything in a pot (my pot's stained).

Photobucket

Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes and remove the jalapeno pepper. It is only for flavor and you don't want your soup too hot. Just toss them.

Photobucket

Cook another 15 minutes over medium heat or until everything is tender and enjoy.

Photobucket

The jalapeno pepper in this recipe is good for congestion or colds.

Day Five of My Health Journey

Well I really haven't eaten that much since yesterday when I last posted. My husband and I split an apple last night, then we ate a bowl of cantaloupe, and today I have only had an apple - no juice or nothing! My husband has had an orange today and a bowl of cantaloupe. I have a bowl left, as well, but, to tell the truth, I haven't really been that hungry. It's 3:56 now. I ate my apple at around 10:30 or 11:00, and I got hungry after that but it passed. I just have a light hunger now - but not enough to eat anything. Tonight we are going to have another meal of lo mein (noodles, broccoli, green onions and mushrooms) and I guess that we will have some more fruit, as well. I will post what we ate tomorrow or Satur-day evening.

I have lost 9 pounds now since Sun-day. Today is Thurs-day. Since yesterday I have noticed mucous breaking up in my lungs and I had a little bit of swelling in my legs that has left this week, as well. I am in a good mood (as normal) but am still tired - I think it's the drastic calorie reduction I have made this week. It's a good thing that I have a break from school now and am not that rushed to do anything. I can just kind of lay back and relax a bit. I guess that's it for today.... I didn't take any pictures, so I will leave you with this one. This is my favorite place to be, (just a short walk from my home) to reflect on the Creator's mighty power.

Day Four of My Health Journey

I hate to be short and sweet, but I am really tired today. I changed two guinea pig cages and walked to the grocery store in the heat then came home and cooked some more lo mein. I know that's not much, but the heat just drains me. Does that mean I am getting old?

After I wrote the post yesterday we had s one apple and one banana. We also had a supper consisting of 1 1/2 raw ears of corn each and 1/2 orange each. The corn was really good and sweet. We didn't season it with butter or salt of anything. All filtered water after that.

Photobucket
My husband brought home some raw foods last.

Photobucket
Today for breakfast we had a SMALL glass of juice consisting of 3 carrots, 1/2 bell pepper, 2 small apples and a clove of garlic - oh and a small bunch of cilantro. We also had 2 bananas with it. Only one is shown here, but after we consumed the juice and the first banana we were still a little bit hungry.

Photobucket

Right before we went to the store, which was a few hours later we ate another banana. That was the last of the bananas. At the store we bought a bunch of broccoli, a container of portabella mushrooms and some green onion to make some more lo mein, which you can find on yesterday's post. We had that for supper, and my husband then wanted an apple and gave me a couple of bites of it. That's all we have had today, but I cut the cantaloupe, which he brought home last night, into pieces and stored them in one of my lock and lock boxes.

Photobucket
We will have a bowl of it for snack later, then that is probably all that we will have for today. As best as I can tell, we are staying below 1,000 calories per day. That's exactly where I want to be. I lost another pound last night, for a total of 8 in three days. I've been in a really good mood today for the most part (I usually am in a good mood - it's part of my nature.) but just really tired. For the amount of raw I am eating my tiredness should be improving, but I think it's just the heat. I would love to get out and walk some, but it will have to cool down first.

I guess that is all I will write for today. Like I said, this one is short and sweet. See you tomorrow if nothing happens! Remember to glorify your Creator with your health and the way you eat!

Jonathan Edwards, a famous preacher from the past (1700's), wrote a list of resolutions, and in them were these:

20. Resolved, to maintain the strictest temperance in eating and drinking.

40. Resolved, to inquire every night, before I go to bed, whether I have acted in the best way I possibly could, with respect to eating and drinking. Jan. 7, 1723.

Day 3 of My Health Journey

I have changed this from raw to just "health" because I haven't been raw like I though. The first day I ate all apples until 1:00 am when my husband and I broke down and had a fried egg, a plantain, some onions and peppers. We were so hungry! Then yesterday, the second day, we ate another fried egg and split another plantain (this time baked with a tad of butter) then last night we split a small baked potato with a salad.

Let me go into more detail. Yesterday, we started off to eat mostly bananas. We had two bananas each until it was time to go to the dentist. I packed a couple of bananas in my purse in case we got hungry while we were out.

Photobucket

We didn't, so we ate our bananas after we got home. Then we had a salad, which I pictured on yesterday's blog post, and later we were still hungry and had our egg and plantain, which I forgot to photograph until it was halfway eaten. We had one more banana yesterday each - and after 8 bananas our stock depleted. My husband had a Gala apple after that, then we each had a bowl of kale chips, which I had dehydrated and stored away - in an air tight container.

Photobucket

He and I split another Gala apple (my first one of the day). Then we halved a baked potato and ate another salad. That was pretty late.

Photobucket
The baked potato was really small and was dressed with my dressing, made of milk, mayonnaise and blended herbs, paprika, turmeric, curry powder and cayenne pepper. The salad had the same dressing.

I had lost one pound this morning.

Today I have had absolutely NOTHING raw! That's because there is only one apple here in the way of fruit. Neither of us wanted to go to the store last night to prepare for today. So it is now 5:52 pm and here's what we had today - all day: Vegetable Lo Mein... Yum! My husband and I started making our own Chinese food last year, as we felt that when we eat in the local Chinese restaurant, with the giant mural of the Hindu temple, that we were eating foods sacrificed to idols. We don't eat at Mexican restaurants either, as they usually have a statue of the Virgin Mary up somewhere. Anyway... back to the point.

I filled a little pot with water to put under my steamer, and I found some broccoli in the refrigerator, so I cut it up and placed it in the steamer.

Photobucket

In the top tier of the steamer I placed 1/2 of a bell pepper, some portabella mushrooms chopped up and some green onions.

Photobucket

Then we (my husband and I did this together) took some Chinese noodles that we had...

Photobucket

and boiled them until they were tender.

Photobucket

We took it out and drained it.

Photobucket

Then we put the noodles and the vegetables that we had steamed and lightly sauteed everything together in some teriyaki sauce. I used this brand.

Photobucket

It looked like this in the skillet...

Photobucket

and even better in my plate!

Photobucket

I also made us some healthy lemonade (good for the liver) to go with the meal. I took one lemon for each glass (straining the pulp and seeds out) then added about 4 teaspoons of raw honey and filled the glass up (it's an 8 ounce glass). I have actually drank some out of the glass below, so it's not full like I made it. This is the first drink I have had since Saturday that hasn't been water.

Photobucket

Now, I have lost 6 pounds since I started eating more healthier on Sunday. I think I might have lost more yesterday (as I went out and walked in the sauna [hot NY weather]), but the 1/2 of a baked potato last night really got me, I believe.

As to how I am feeling today - I am very tired for some reason. I believe it is because I had a terrible busting headache last night and ended up taking something for pain. I rarely ever have a bad headache anymore (I use to have terrible ones every day!) and when I do get a headache it usually goes away without medication, but the one last night didn't. On top of that, I got choked on a piece of the kale chips that I was eating and when I coughed it made the headache ten times worse so I resolved to take a pain pill. Today I am really tired and groggy because of that - but I slept SO good last night. Also, I am having some pain in the tooth that the dentist filled yesterday. He was going to give me something for pain, but I told him that I am aspirin sensitive, so he told me just to take Tylenol for my pain. It's not even that bad - just kind of a dull throb and really just aggravating, but I assume it will go away since he had offered me pain medication. I mean I think that it's just throbbing from the drilling he did and is normal - nothing to worry about. My mood is good, and I haven't really had any cravings, which is saying a lot as much bread/sugar/soda as I was having until three days ago. I have really been enjoying the raw though, (except the day of apples), and the eggs, salads, lo mein are quite enjoyable too, as they are something different in my diet.  The best part is that everything I am eating now - raw or cooked) is light and healthy, and I hope one day to get my diet into subjection that I can go 100% raw, because I know that I know that I know that it is the healthiest way to eat.

Oh, we decided to eat meat on weekends (Satur-day and Sun-day nights, and possibly Fri-days too, depending on our bodies) and we will just eat it baked or roasted. My husband is afraid of getting anemia, so he has to have some meats. Like I said, this is a touch and go thing. We are just doing what our bodies tell us really - but no bread or sweets for a while definitely! I have been craving beans or a lentil soup, but haven't talked my husband into that yet. Maybe soon!

Love, Kimberly
