Day Seventy One of My Health Journey

I wanted to go ahead and make this post tonight I am so excited! Do you know what happened today? Of course not, so let me tell you the good news. To be honest, I am a student, and I don't go out that much. I spend my days in elastic shorts, pajamas and sweat pants. Anything comfortable, and I only put my slacks or jeans on when I go out. I bought a pair or pants the same day that I bought a new dress for my daddy's funeral - the day after he died, March 30, 2010. My husband and I went for a walk today to take some photos and videos, and I put them on (a pair of white jeans) and I can actually get them off and on without unbuttoning them or unzipping them. They slide right over my hips, and I had to take them off because I was afraid that the would fall right off. I am now in jeans that I haven't worn in a few years. They were just a little bit tight, but about 10 or so more pounds and the will fit perfectly! But I am not going to stop there! No way! i am going to lose it all. I am now down 27 pounds! If you remember I was back down to 23 pounds, but it was fluid and it came right off.

Over the last few days, we have had

spaghetti. . .

lots of bananas. . .

Photobucket

pizza. . . I forgot to photograph it, so I photographed the box. I had been craving pizza for some reason.

salad . . .

and more spaghetti.

That's it for today - just short and sweet. I am really behind in my psychology class.

Blessings to all!

Ciy Island and Hurricane Earl - Nice Pictures and Videos

Well, right now I am sitting here waiting on Hurricane Earl. I think we are not suppose to get more than a little heavy rain and wind gusts. It's getting really cloudy and dark here now. Praise YHWH for His hand of protection. Thank you to everyone that has been praying! This afternoon I decided to go out and to take some videos and photos to share with you. Some videos are focused on the chopiness of the waters, and the wind, etc., and others are focused more on the island. I got a few videos of the pigeons and swans here too, for the animal lovers!

I took photos of the island, in general, as I know that lots of you just like to see something different. I know I do. The first thing I ran into were these beautiful canaries.

Photobucket

They are owned by the barber shop, where my husband gets his hair cut.

Next, I took a photo of teh cloudy skies, as I came to an open place with a good view.

I passed a store with a sign up in the window, which is perfect for this post!

Photobucket

And I just had to capture these lovely flowers! They are so large and pink. Just beautiful!

Photobucket

And I just got a few shots of the streets around the little beach, which I went to.

And here is the beach.

Here is a few videos, which I took of the east side of the island.

I took a few more photos as we crossed the island.

This video focuses on the hurricane.

And here are a few that just focus on the island and some birds.

I took some more photos of the houses around the harbor.

And I took a few stills of the birds.

I hope you have enjoyed this, and now you can see what we are facing as the hurricane comes, which I don't think is going to be too bad.

Here are the last pictures of the sky, taken just a few minutes ago, three hours after the other photos and videos were taken.

Day Sixty Nine of My Health Journey

Well, it's certainly been busy here! I have been a busy bee studying Psychology. It's been one of the most intensive classes I have ever had, but I enjoy it so much, especially the biology and function of the brain and nervous system! I just love biology in general! Nothing has worked right this week. The belt on my vacuum cleaner broke, my A/C unit in the bed room won't get off fan and on to the cool setting, so it's a bit hot in here and difficult to sleep. I still haven't found my book on food additives. My husband and I looked for it this morning, and nada; nothing yet! Don't worry though. It will turn up! We live on a small island in the Long Island Sound, called City Island, hence the name of the blog, and so we are just sitting here awaiting news of Hurricane Earl. Some forecasters are bringing it here to the coast and some have it more out to sea. I have heard 45 mph wind gusts are coming, and I have heard that 85 mph gusts are coming. Isn't it wonderful that meteorology is such an exact science (sarcastically)? It seems like I had something else to write about, but I can't think of it right now.

As far as food, at the end of the month money is usually a tight thing, so raw has to suffer, and so does my husband's and my weight loss. We have each gained back 3 pounds, making me 22 pounds down and him 18 pounds down. September should be a better month though, and we will lose that quickly. I know that for me, it's fluid. I can tell my legs are a bit swollen.

We've actually had juice every day though! I am glad about that. That's quite a bit of raw! Did I tell you that I broke all my glasses? Now we are drinking out of these cheap plastic cups. Glasses are on my "to buy" list.

Photobucket

We had chicken, tomatoes and a  roll.

Photobucket

Eggs, tomato, a roll and a half of a banana...

Photobucket

Monday I called a relative, and she told me that she was having steak, potatoes and green beans for supper. I told my husband, and he wanted that too, so that's what we had and it was delicious!

Photobucket

Yesterday, we had our juice and nothing all day until some soup last night. It was a poor man's supper, LOL, with only noodles, carrots and onions, but it was good!

Photobucket

We also had some potato chips, because they are cheap (but costly on health). For anyone concerned about eating kosher, buy Utz potato chips. We don't always eat kosher due to money and availability, but we try as much as we can.

Photobucket
Today all I have had is juice. My husband wanted some eggs, so I made him some. He loves my eggs, and it took me a while to learn how to make them. You know how I like mine - with the yolk busted and the whole thing very crispy, but he likes his sunny side up. I turn the heat up on mine to get it so crispy, but his takes low heat and a longer cooking time. He says now though that I do it to perfection. Besides the juice, this was his breakfast.

Photobucket

I am on a liquid diet until tonight, and I think we are having spaghetti.

Well, there you have it. . . bread and chips and beef = 3 pounds!

Until next time, blessings!
